We are pleased to announce that Fundación Avina has successfully offset its carbon footprint for the year 2024.

This achievement was made possible through a strategic partnership with four waste picker cooperatives from across Latin America, marking a significant milestone for both our organization and the region.  

A total of 558 tons of CO₂ were offset, distributed among the following cooperatives:  

• Asociación de Recicladores Mejía Vive por Ti (ASERECIME) 

• Cooperativa de Trabajo El Álamo Ltda. 

• Cooperativa de Trabajo Las Madreselvas Ltda. 

• Recuperadores Urbanos del Oeste (RUO)

This initiative also strengthens our commitment to sustainability and highlights the key role that waste pickers play in just and inclusive climate solutions.
