WATER

WHAT WE DO

At Fundación Avina, we understand that access to water is a universal human right that must be guaranteed via collaborative governance and care for ecosystems in the midst of the climate crisis.

Our Water program aims to guarantee the right to safe water for all people by fostering democratic water governance models with an emphasis on community management and citizen participation.

To achieve this goal and create collaborative impact in local communities and territories, our initiatives address a number of cross-cutting issues.

LINES OF ACTION

To achieve universal, sustainable access to safe water and sanitation, we work alongside our implementation partners to:

Promote multi-sector participation

in water planning and water-related public policies, ensuring that a wide range of different voices and perspectives are integrated into decision-making processes.

Strengthen the capacities of stakeholders

from different sectors of society (communities, government agencies, civil society organizations) to guarantee the availability and sustainable management of water for all people.

Implement innovative solutions

to address the challenges of climate change, improve water resource management, protect ecosystems, and improve quality of life for people.

INITIATIVES

We work closely with stakeholders on initiatives and alliances to promote positive, sustainable change in global South communities.
