Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive and sustainable development in AfricaFundación Avina has officially joined the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN).

Since 2016, ACEN has played a pioneering role in advancing the circular economy in Africa, becoming one of the continent’s leading sustainability networks. Today, it brings together more than 1,100 experts across 42 African countries, expanding the reach and impact of circular economy initiatives throughout the region.

The network’s strategic partnerships with global organizations such as the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the African Development Bank strengthen its international influence and elevate African perspectives in global sustainability discussions.

By joining ACEN, Fundación Avina aligns its efforts with a broader movement of organizations dedicated to turning waste into opportunities, fostering innovation and building systems that create positive outcomes for both people and the planet.

This milestone reflects the organization’s belief that lasting and meaningful change is driven by collaboration, connecting local action with regional and global dynamics to strengthen partnerships, scale innovative solutions and contribute to more resilient and equitable systems across Africa.

As a member of ACEN, Fundación Avina expands its presence on the African continent beyond initiatives such as MapBiomas, Democracy at Work, Climate and Care Initiative, and Impulsouth, which we are already consolidating in African countries, always in collaboration with partner organizations responsible for implementing these actions.Más información sobre ACEN: acen.africa
