From September 28–30, Montréal will bring together 400 leaders, professionals, networks, experts, and changemakers from the global philanthropy community for the eighth edition of WINGSForum. This year, the gathering focuses on moving from intention to practical action, exploring how philanthropy can act in more collaborative and accountable ways and strengthen its connections with communities, governments, and the private sector.
Sharing power across philanthropy, business, and communities
One of the highlights of the program will be the session “Blended Power: Sharing Power Across Philanthropy, Business and Communities,” led by our CEO, Valeria Scorza, on September 28, from 12:00 to 13:15.
Together with Michael Mapstone, from the Anglo American Foundation; Kirston Greenop, from Standard Bank Group; and Carolina Suárez Visbal, from Latimpacto, Valeria will lead a conversation on what it really takes for philanthropy, businesses, and communities to share power, incentives, and accountability.
The session will draw on real stories of cross-sector alliances — including experiences that succeeded and others that came close to failing — to explore real partnership dilemmas through practical case-analysis activities. The aim is to reflect on principles for building more effective partnerships that keep people and communities at the center of decision-making.
About WINGS
WINGS strengthens the global philanthropic ecosystem by connecting and championing organizations that help make philanthropy more effective at different levels of society.
The network works to ensure that philanthropy is well-resourced, supported, and equipped to contribute to long-term progress in communities around the world. From intention to action
WINGSForum 2026 builds on a journey that began with previous editions. In 2020, the gathering explored the need to IMAGINE new possibilities. In 2023, the focus was on how to TRANSFORM practices and institutions, including how power, resources, and decision-making shape philanthropy.
In 2026, the focus turns to ACT together: supporting community leaders and organizations, advancing a more engaged and accountable philanthropy, and deepening collaboration with governments, businesses, and communities so that people and communities are better supported everywhere.
