Fundación Avina en la XVI Conferencia Regional de la Mujer

At Fundación Avina, we understand that care is not just a sectoral category or a task confined to the private sphere: it is the invisible foundation of community life, of the social fabric, and of the systems that sustain our democracies, our economies, and our ecosystems.

The care paradigm as a logic of systemic change

That is why we propose that the care paradigm — understood as the necessary interdependence among people, territories, and generations — should cut across our strategies on democracy, labor innovation, and climate action. We do not see it as an additional axis in our agenda, but rather as a transversal logic for systemic change.

Dialogue and collaboration for comprehensive care policies

We believe that dialogue and collaboration are key to promoting the adoption of policies that integrate a care perspective, build comprehensive systems that address diverse needs, and recognize care as a right.

Fundación Avina at the XVI Regional Conference on Women

Within this framework, we participated alongside our allies in different spaces at the XVI Regional Conference on Women, a living example of co-creation in which we opened spaces to amplify the voices and proposals of domestic workers and women defenders of land and territory, and contributed to conversations on just transition, climate crisis, and care crisis, as well as advocacy on care and domestic workers’ rights, among other issues.
